Journal: "Social Justice, Inner Work & Contemplative Practice: Lessons & Directions for Multiple Fields"

Editor, July 2017. The Initiative for Contemplation, Equity & Action (ICEA) Journal. (Hosted by the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society.) Created to help reduce the frequent separation between the social justice and contemplative practice fields. ICEA's intentions include creating bridge-building forums and network development; pathways for training and tools; and publications to promote vision, voice and visibility.

*NEW BOOK*: Buddhism & Lucumi

OCHA DHARMA: The Relationship Between Lucumi, an African-Based Tradition & Buddhist Practice

I'm excited to share release of a new book. There is much mythology about and limited visibility of African-based traditions. There is also much mythology about or limited awareness of the many different types of Buddhist practice. This book is offered to promote dialogue and illuminate aspects of these communities of practice for each other and for more of the world.  May all beings benefit!  (Also available on Amazon.com.)

Initiative for Contemplation, Equity & Action (ICEA)

The Initiative for Contemplation, Equity & Action (ICEA) Journal, Editor, July 2017.  Born out of a keen sense of separation between the social justice and contemplative practice fields, ICEA is led by a team from 8 national organizations and focuses on creating intentional field-building structures for multi-identitied communities (across sectors, geographies, grassroots and grasstops), to support the thoughtful integration of these two streams of essential work. Our work includes creating bridge-building forums and network development; pathways for training and tools; and publications to promote vision, voice and visibility.
